Journeys through the mist

Time is closing in and other stuff

I’ve finished up the first phase of a website redesign for my good friend Frank DeMarco at his Hologram Books site and blog, (check him and his site out if you feel so inclined) and I’m getting into packing and moving mode big time now. I called the moving company and set a date, so now the move is even more real than it was. Still more to do on the Hologram Books site for Frank, but the rest will have to wait till I am at least partially settled on the Big Island of Hawaii.

I’m not sure how many of you have noticed, but there has been a palpable shift in energy. For several months after the first of the year, there was a positive shift and I was quite hopeful, but I started noticing a shift to the negative polarity, and by September, it was quite strong. I truly hope this swings back to the positive polarity. Many of my friends have noticed it as well.

It is important for each and every one of us to keep ourselves from being pulled into the negative energy that is not so prominent, and in anyway that we can. The more of people that can keep themselves in the positive polarity, the less effect the negative energy has. This certainly doesn’t mean that we have to check our opinions at the door, just that we need to keep from dipping down into the anxiety and anger that is floating around.

This one will be short, and I’ll try to keep at least a few short ones coming between now and the time I leave toward the end of November.

Saw that site; looks nice, clean! 🙂

You talk spiritual things like timethief on her personal blog.

P.S.: Comment reply subscription by mail plugin please, if possible.

      Vikas,

Thanks a lot. I’ll look into a comment notification plugin. I’m reluctant at the moment to do to much to this theme since I’ll probably be changing it soon. I might build my own this time. At some point I’ll probably switch to Joomla (extreme overkill for a basic blog) so that I can keep moving up the learning curve with it.

Ohkk, Richard. No problem; waiting for your theme!

I am also moving up on the learning curve. I have my domain now and will soon self-host [I’ve hosting from http://vade.ie ; a very very reliable small Irish host; I got it free @ their feedback contest]. BTW, I do recommend ASO to all like you and Time Thief. This learning is so exciting but it’s so much of time waste!

If you are looking for a cheap host for your experimentation/demo etc. try this Indian host: http://whost.in

    Hi thesacredpath 😆

I need to find someone who can help me set up a website. And design a little bit. There’s probably also a bit of programming. I’m not sure how big a job it is however it’s worth a lot to me and I’d gladly pay for qualified help…

  3. Universalgeni

I forgot to ask: would you do it?

    • Richard

Universal, my time is severely limited right now and it might be February or March before things will settle down enough for me to get back into design projects.

If you want, use my contact form and give me a good description of what you want to do.

I Just wanted to tell you thank you. I see you pop up with so many answers in the forums, it is amazing to me how much you know. I have to admit, most of the technical stuff just flies right over my head, but you really know your stuff. It is so nice to know there are people out there so generous with your time and knowledge. Thank you again for your gifts of time and talents to the rest of us.

    • Richard

You’re very welcome. I’m glad to be able to help.

    Universalgeni,

You can post your ad on WordPress Jobs. http://jobs.wordpress.net/ and you may find suitable help.

I visited the site you have been working on and it looks great. 🙂 No matter how organized you are making such a big move may be problematic but it does sound like you have everything well in hand. Like you I have noticed the shift to negative polarity and I being mindful lest I be caught up in it.

All my best to you always,
    Namaste

Timethief, thanks for the compliment. I’m pretty happy with the site as well. The next phase or two should pull things together even better.

Not getting caught up in the negative polarity is always the issue. Right now I’m getting really anxious to get the move over with and get on with the next chapter of my life.

  7. Universalgeni

Thanks guys. I’ll follow the suggestions. I even emailed timethief about it. 😆

    • Richard

Universal, I wish I could help you out, but the timing just isn’t right. Perhaps after I get settled if you are still in need we can get together on it.

I want to second the comment by mrsdmenopausemom, Rich.

“It is so nice to know there are people out there so generous with your time and knowledge. Thank you again for your gifts of time and talents to the rest of us.”

And, in re your comment, “The more of people that can keep themselves in the positive polarity, the less effect the negative energy has”, let me encourage people to watch and listen to a lot LESS news. When I was growing up, back before the Pony Express made everything move so fast, I thought that following the news was important to be an educated citizen. I don’t know if I am the one who changed, or the news media, or most likely both of us, but these days it seems fear-charged entertainment. Who needs it? And of course there is the question of keeping our focus on the important things in life: Every distraction is that much less focus.

Get your Lanai out quickly, big boy. About ten minutes after you land in Hawaii, all your friends are going to come visiting, including people whose names you don’t know yet! 🙂

    • Richard

Frank, as always, wise words. Your point about watching or reading news is a very good one. I keep myself just informed enough to know the general trend of things, but past that I simply don’t worry about it. We should all be working more on our own lives as best we can. Of course for those that are jobless, losing their homes, and those that already have, that can be a little difficult. Immediate needs sort of get in the way.

Okay first, I love this website and the one you just finished with! They are awesome! I was wondering why 2009 just seemed like it was beating me and my family up, after reading this now atleast I know a little more about it. 😉 That negative energy just seems to surround everything in my life, it’s ridiculous. I’m one of those jobless, losing homes person and yes that gets in the way more than I would like; maybe I’m moving the energy to the negative side more because of all that is happening.
I also wonder about the news and have to say I think I’m going to be one that turns it off, because my brains and the sanity of those around me can’t take it anymore.
It seems you Richard and Frank are both intelligent men! 🙂

        • Richard

          Bats0711, thanks for the compliments.

If you find yourself being effected by the negative energy flowing around, try relaxing for a few seconds with your feet flat on the floor, with your eyes closed, and take 5 or 10 slow deep breaths, in through the nose and out through your mouth. On the inhale, feel clean, white neutral energy coming into you through the top of your head, and then on the exhale, feel that clean white sparkling energy flowing down and through you, purging out the negative energy and pushing it out through the bottoms of your feet.

          It works surprisingly well.
